Aspen Dale Winery at the Barn, Delaplane

This is such a beautiful place if you want a space almost just for your party. It is so peaceful. Larry and Kelly were very welcoming. There were plenty of tables and chairs and even live music. Everyone enjoyed the sangria. The place is very rustic and charming. I'm so glad and grateful we could celebrate my husband's birthday there.

Winery in a bucolic setting. Large outdoor countryside picnic area. By far the largest pour and least expensive prices in the Fauquier area. Rustic tasting room adds to the charm as does the resident cat.

I have been wine tasting in Virginia for the past 30 years and the wine at this business tastes like Virginia wine from the 1990’s. The location and barn are very nice, but they need a new wine maker. The wine needs work and the costumer service needs even more help. They say they are dog friendly, but after bringing our two 20 lbs dogs in the winery we were told that they could not be on the furniture sitting on our laps at a high top table. We moved outside to be considerate, but after thinking about it we were upset as we are responsible dog owners and we did nothing to warrant the cold behavior we received.

A little worried pulling up...but inside is a very cool...tasting bar and shop... perfect...bit on a nice day...grab your trays and some other small bites and head outside...pastures...vineyards and tables. Very good wines at affordable prices. Staff is wonderful. So recap...food..wine and staff top shelf...say hi to Julia, She's the BEST!

We paid for 2 tastings and a bottle of wine. We brought our 2 small dogs into the winery after our tasting and had them on our lap because there was only a high top table available. Our one dog doesn't like children and a child came over to say hi to our dog. We quickly told her she could pet our other dog who loves people, but this dog preferred to be left alone, which she was fine with. Then the owner came over and basically said our dogs couldn't be "on the furniture" which meant they couldn't be on our lap. So we went outside. Personally I think you should state you are dog friendly or you aren't. We were a little insulted because we thought we were being considerate by not leaving our dogs on the floor so people didn't trip walking by. We went outside to appease the owner, but it left a bad taste in our mouth.
