To remember the period when Berry Gordy and an array of talented artists created the timeless Motown sound, visit Motown Museum. Known as Hitsville, USA, this humble building was once the headquarters and recording studio of the Motown record company and the birthplace of innumerable hits. Artists such as Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, and Marvin Gaye recorded songs here. You can visit the famous Studio A, see a collection of photos and artifacts, and stop by the upper-floor apartment where Berry Gordy and his family used to live. Berry's own stereo system and Michael Jackson's fedora hat and sequined glove are just a few of the treasures here. I made it to visit just in time before them closing for renovations. Coming here was such an invaluable experience. I learned so much about important milestones in music and black history. I was in town for work but made a point to come visit and it was super worthwhile. Your admission cost includes a tour and although it’s only an hour, you learn so much. The guides and staff are all really knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. I highly encourage experiencing this. It’s a cool and unique experience. The tours are really well done. It was easily the highlight of my trip.

My bf and I have been waiting to come to the Motown Museum since he moved to Detroit in Jan 2021. Finally after a year and a half later, Motown Museum undergone some remodeling and we were able to go inside. It was $15 to go on and it was a 30 minute tour. Our tour guide was amazing. She gave us a lot of information and was enthusiastic during the whole tour. She gave us enough time to take pictures at different areas of the museum. We saw Berry Gordy’s actual apartment and saw Studio A which was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. I can’t believe that small room created such amazing music. A lot of priceless history and a must see if you are in the area.

The tour was awesome. We saw the famous Studio A where most of the iconic recordings took place. A lot of stuff in there are actual things from the 60s and 70s when Motown was at it's peak. The tour guides are very knowledgeable. It's very easy to find a parking spot. And they have plenty of photos of the label's legendary artists recording

Moderator was excellent and had a nice voice! Tour was great! He was very knowledgeable to be so young! It was so exciting and I loved the dance we did at the end! "Temptations Walk" This is a part of Black History everyone needs to see! Great job everyone we encountered! Blessings

The family and I decided to come to Detroit for a NFL game and stayed for the holiday and weekend. Friday the 25th we decided to do some touring. The first place we went to was MOTOWN. Grabbed tickets for the 1:30 tour. We were so happy we did. Tour started with a wonderful video and moved onward to upstairs. The tour guide was beyond wonderful. She ensured to keep group entertained and was very knowledgeable. She even shared her beautiful voice with us! I wish I would’ve grabbed her name. The tour ended in the recording studio . What a hair raising experience. Just to know we were standing in the same room as so many legends had in the past was an unbelievable feeling. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience, the staff are all amazing. One thing I’d suggest is a little more time in upstairs museum to be able to view everything and read as well. The tour is very fast paced and doesn’t give you enough time to soak it all in. Photography is allowed.
