Create an itinerary including Mueller State Park
A popular Watchable Wildlife Area, Mueller is home to elk, black bear, hawks, and mule deer. Park visitors traverse the park’s numerous trails on foot, snowshoes, cross-country skis, horseback and mountain bike, depending on the season. A popular winter destination for snow shoeing.

Mueller also has two options to stay overnight. There are 132 campsites in the park; 17 of these are open for winter camping . The park also has three cabins for rent year-round.

Mueller State Park welcomes pets in campgrounds, picnicking, two sledding areas and along the park’s roads, but not on the hiking trails or in the backcountry. Mueller is a Watchable Wildlife Area. Keeping pets off of the trails increases the chances of visitors seeing the numerous species of wildlife in the park. Pets must be on a leash at all times unless they are in their tent, RV or personal vehicle.

  • Really great experience at Mueller State Park! Stop at the visitor center and you'll wish every state park was like this... really friendly knowledgeable people and their display is really cool! We stayed for the day and hiked all the trails, but we'd definitely go back for tent or trailer camping... we noticed the tent spots are built up nicely, so each one is flat! Highly recommended!
  • A beautiful and quiet park. The perfect place to camp and play. My favorite park on the Eastern slopes of Colorado. It's tucked away in the forest and just a short drive from Woodland Park. It's quiet except for the wildlife and breeze whistling through the trees. There's a lot of great hiking paths. Not only are some of the trails horse friendly, but there's a stable and overnight lodging for horses and their riders. Further down the way are cabins and campsites for everyone else. With so many trails winding through the forest, there's a lot to see and explore.
  • Muellers State Park is a hikers paradise! So many trails for hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riding that provide amazing views of Pikes peak and the surrounding mountain range. Very nice camp sites and restrooms. Our site had water and electric and there's a dump station available. Well kept park. We'd love to return again.
  • This is the best campground Ive ever had so far. The campsite is clean and well-maintained. And since we only camp using a tent, showering is not a problem. They have coin automated shower and coin changer, all you have to bring is cash, your own soap and shampoo of course :) We will absolutely come back here and camp for more than 1 day.
  • Great place to cross country ski. Much easier drive than anywhere up I-70. 2 groomed trails for classic Nordic skiing. All roads plowed. Visitor center open every day with flush toilets. Totally empty on a weekday.
