  • Crossed through this area and it was mildly interesting. Saw quite a few prong horn antelope and wondered how they survive in this desolate waterless wasteland. Spent maybe an hour on the road and...

  • Beautiful landscape if you’re into wide open spaces. We had an amazing night camping on the grasslands. IMPORTANT NOTE: The eastern part of the area marked on Google Maps is privately owned and not available for dispersed camping. A rancher informed me of my mistake and pointed me to the public area off SR 450. Look for the sign!
  • Figuring out HOW to camp here was a bit challenging as the websites are not terribly helpful. But we got it sorted out (basically: show up, drive into a part of the grassland you are allowed to be in - I found the NPS road map pdf for the Grassland most helpful - and put up a tent). A bit windy, but the quiet and solitude is perfect for just getting away from it all. We still had full cell service where we were.
  • If you have breathing problems, I'd highly recommend you stay away from this extremely polluted area. There's a layer of smog and other pollutants from ground level to several hundred feet in the air. I couldn't even see the full moon last night until it reached it's highest point in the sky.
  • It's just acres and acres upon more acres of prairie, hills, and grass. One of the best examples of Wyoming's wide open spaces. Depending on where you're at in the grasslands there are places where you can hike around or ride trails on motorbikes, atv, utv, off-road vehicles with the right permits. You do need a permit sticker on whatever it is you plan on driving on the trails. I believe you can look online at BLM's website. Or probably Walmart or any of the motorcycle places in town probably sell the permit/sticker.
  • They serve burgers hot dogs gatsby's and chips and on Friday they got homemade halal Indian foods they also got frozen meat in a freezer that you can use later on to cook at homeđź’Ż
