  • We've not heard of this museum until we read in the NY Times that there is a Keith Haring exhibition running at this museum until July. So, we decided to take a drive to Doylestown and check this...

  • Lovely art museum-- great way to spend the afternoon. Love the pieces, the history, and how they showcase well known artists from Bucks County. (They have a lovely little cafe, too, and several places to eat in outdoor gardens/spaces near artwork.) When I went most recently, they had Robert Beck there on the last day of the exhibit featuring his works. Very cool.
  • A little tricky finding. It's located next to the library. Fortunately there is parking there. Best to use the street entrance. It has a great presence with sculptures and landscapes. Inside is a smaller scale art gallery includes paintings, carpentry work and sculpture garden. There is the ability to use mobile to learn about the works on display. The staff are friendly and helpful. Worth Exploring!
  • I went to the Michener Art Museum for a special exhibit, however, I enjoyed the entire museum. The collection is varied and offers something for everyone. There is also a sculpture garden. I found it interesting that the building was a former jail. There is a lot of history on the grounds. There is free parking. The entrance fee is quite reasonable. The gift shop is in need of a revamp.
  • I enjoyed my visit at Michener Art Museum. The building and surrounding ground made the initial impression inviting. The interior drew your intention right into the artwork. I wanted to see the exhibit Keith Haring: A Radiant Legacy which was fantastic. I love Keith Haring's art since I was kid and the reason I majored in art. I will go back to visit this wonderful art museum again.
  • We did a day trip to catch the Keith Haring exhibit, and spent hours browsing their collection highlighting PA artists. The museum is built on the site of a 19th century penitentiary: several massive walls and guardtowers remain. They're trying creative techniques to engage visitors with their collection. For some artworks, they provide 2 alternative descriptions and you vote on your preference. Another exhibit featured young adults who picked a museum work to showcase and explain why. Highlights are the Nakashima room, Michener's desk and lunch in their outdoor sculpture garden.
