  • It’s a bit difficult to reach here but once you do, you’ll have absolute peace. It’s a serene waterfall, worth the trek of 30mins next to the rail track. Ensure to park your car before you enter to shashta retreat to start walking alongside the train trail. The falls itself is easy to miss as it’s on the right side or the side where the river flows, just before the old bridge.
  • Try to avoid use google map to navigate this place, otherwise you will be end up with an entrance of a private property. Don’t ask me how do I know it. The most short way is to follow the hedge creek falls trail to the Sacramento River, cross it , turn right and follow the railway for a few minutes.it is just before a bridge. A guy told me the water is unbelievable cold. Of course I don’t believe it, till I touch the water. If you don’t want to be wet, you can go further south. There is a bridge, you just need walk longer and get more chance of meeting a train and it’s noise. But as long as you see the falls, everything pays back!!!
  • VIDEO Of the river we crossed for reference. September 2022. WHO Couple in their late 20s, fairly fit and enjoys outdoors and nature. More on the adventurous side but also not huge risk takers. MY EXPERIENCE We went in September, it was a warm day, clear skies. Would visit again but with other people to enjoy too. Spent about 3 or 4 hours doing this. More time spent hanging out at the falls and getting in ge cold water. I loved it. I felt more connected to nature after there. I dipped into the freezing water and made a wish. There was someone meditating on a rock. We got lucky because the train was undergoing maintenance so we didn’t see or hear the train go by. Crossing the river was a fun challenge. I wouldn’t cross it if the river was really high. WHAT TO WEAR Regular hiking clothes, shorts, waterproof shoes or water shoes. Someone else crossed in Vans but I like to be comfortable. Something you’re OK wetting. HOW TO GET THERE Park at Hedgecreek falls Do the short trail to river Reach the river and cross it Watch video for reference of how deep it was when we went Get out of river Follow the tracks down towards your right Reach bridge of the track and you’ll see or hear Mossbrae Falls Use your memory to get back
  • Beautiful “hidden” gem, a must see if you’re in the area! If you have to choose between this or hedge creek falls, definition chose this one! Dog friendly and our dogs had so much fun
  • This place is magical ! Not easy to get to, but absolutely worth it. From Hedge Creek you will need to cross Sacramento River's freezing waters (about 2 feet deep), and walk next to train tracks to find it, but the extra work makes it even more special and rewarding once there. Of all the waterfalls and springs in area, it is my favorite.
