Take a turn along the many trails of Purgatory Resort amid the rugged San Juan Mountains. Ten ski lifts and 88 trails mean you'll rarely find lines for the slopes. The extraordinary amount of snowfall here--averaging 6.7 m (22 ft) per year--ensures that the slopes are well-supplied. At the summit at 3,299 m (10,822 ft), you'll be rewarded with views of peaks and bowls etched with evergreens and aspen trees. The resort's ominous nickname, Purgatory, comes from the name of the creek that runs through the region. Plan my trip to Durango with suggested itineraries provided by Klarna Trips.

Very upset with this resort. They refused to let me reschedule my ski lift/rentals that were paid in advance. The road conditions were unsafe to drive and we did not want to drive. Worst customer...

Awesome day of mountain biking. The attendants at the lifts were awesome and even allowed me to take my bike back down (flat tire and husband had extra tube) at the end of the day even after they had already sent the last chair. Our only complaint was that the trails weren’t marked well and we were a bit confused which one we were on sometimes. This isn’t ideal when you are downhill mountain biking with an 8 year old from Iowa (no mountains). Other than that, the biking was awesome!!

We had great fun on the summer 1/2 day pass, with the coaster and slide taking up the whole time. Kids are 8y, 5y, and 5mo. I would have liked to have brought the baby in the pack to a few more areas to be with the family but we made it work and it was fine. You'll pay resort prices for beverages, and the shops that we were interested in closed at 5. The big lift was down for maintenance with no option for a raincheck, and getting to the paddle-boards would have been impossible for the time we had, which was a bummer. But we still had a blast and would come back again.

Riding here since 2005. Good intermediate resort. Recently started a family and got the parent share pass. We want to ask: why is there no changing station in the men’s restroom? When my husband and I take turns riding and hanging out with our little girls at the bottom he has no place to go change a diaper.

The beauty of The San Juan National Forest is a blessing to experience as a local here in one of the greatest places in North America. I have a special place in my heart for Purgatory. Wether I am shredding solo, with friends or family, the vibrations and frequencies I share up there, resonate deep within the very depth of my soul. Thank you to all the staff that make it possible for me and my loved ones to enjoy the Mountains of Colorado during during Old Man Wintertime! Adam

Me and my wife stayed 5 nights in the peregrine point 208. The condo was beautiful with very nice Mountain View’s. Front desk attendant at check in was very friendly and helpful. Only downside is the resort being so far away from restraunts and the condo could have been a bit cleaner.
