  • Walking through history. There is a lot to see, read and take in. There is also a walking trail around the river. Make sure not to miss all the pieces of the past and the present.

  • This place has an abundance of historic significance and even more information about early Tennessee history. The information available in the visitor center is absolutely amazing but walking the grounds and seeing the actual fort were breathtaking...especially after learning about it in the visitor center. A great place to visit for anyone interested in TN history.
  • A beautiful building, with good AC which is nice on those hot summer days. The interpretive museum inside is well built and placed together. There is a theater inside featuring a film about the pioneers in this area. There is a detailed history of exchanges with the Cherokee nation and the British. Out back there is a settlement recreation.
  • Beautiful park! Very clean and well maintained! There is an amazing trail along the river with plenty of places to stop and rest.
  • Great place to learn all about history, local and one of the biggest turning points of the American Revolutionary war began here. The mustering of the men who fought and won the Battle of Kings mountain that turned the tide in the Revolutionary war on the southern front.
  • The staff and volunteers are always so nice when we visit. And always answer any questions I may have. We went for the 12 days of Christmas today 🎄⛄ and learned so very much! Also they have a walk through place inside with mannequins and places that you to read and learn about the history of Fort Watauga, and more. If you like history you would like to visit.
