Create an itinerary including Waldameer & Water World
At Waldameer & Water World you can enjoy roller coasters, kiddie rides, water attractions, and everything in between. This park, which originally opened as a picnic venue called Hoffman's Grove, got its current name when the Erie Electric Motor Company leased it in 1896. Experience the two most famous park rides, the Whacky Shack and the Pirates Cove, which were added in the 1970s. The park also has a number of newer rides, such as the wild X-Scream, and gentler options for kids and families. When you want to cool off, take a plunge down the water world slides or bring your children to the tad pool areas. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Erie holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Waldameer & Water World and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Excellent park. Plenty of picnic areas if you plan to bring your own food. Easy too get around. Will be getting season passes next year

  • The water park was clean and well run. Lacked shade unless you rent a cabana, but decent water slides and a nice wave pool. Amazing spray park and ship battle area for younger kids.

  • Definitely worth the trip in. The old classic dry rides bring back a flavor of americana from years ago. The food prices were reasonable for a park. Its nice that you can just walk around without...

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE this park!! Everything was perfect … love the feel of the place …. LOVE the rides…. Great atmosphere.. Clean park .. A HUGE bonus for us was that they have many old /nostalgic rides … such as the ‘Whacky Shack’ ( a dark ride)…and ‘Pirates Cove’ , for example… and more . I think it’s priceless that these older rides are so well kept and running … they’re a great part of amusement park history! And very much needed and valued! Loved the choices of foods at the numerous stands … simple .. and great prices as well . Love all the older tall trees scattered throughout the park . Great variety of rides… There was a nice cool breeze, even on a hot day , because it’s right next to Lake Erie. No terrible long lines anywhere… friendly staff throughout. Nice little Kiddie Land as well. They also have water world , but we didn’t go this time.. Was a VERY pleasant, enjoyable day with my family … so glad we went .. We can’t wait to go back 👍🏼😊
  • This is the third year we've been and we will continue to come back! It's so affordable and fun. The water park is AWESOME. There's something for everyone. We always spend a ton of time at the wave pool. The amusement park is the perfect size. Bigger than a fair but far smaller than say Cedar Point, it's great for a one day trip with the kiddos. The Ravine Flyer 2 is NO JOKE. I love it but you might need to sit down afterwards! Thanks to the owners for keeping this place tidy and affordable. We will be back next year!
  • We had a great time at Waldameer! For being a small park, they have a great set of coasters. Ravine Flyer II really surprised us and it is now on of my top wooden coasters. The fun houses are great and so unique! The water park looks like a lot of fun, but we pretty much stick to the dry part of the parks. It seemed like most of the people there were going to the water park that day. The only thing to pay attention to is that when it mentions the park opened at 11, that was just the water park. We had to sit around for an hour to ride coasters and such because the rest of the park opened at noon.
  • We had the Carr family reunion here at the park and it was the best time ever! I never been to this park but it was really nice with alot of amazing things to do, play games, swim, and crazy rides. The family really enjoyed the adventures here. Now, I want to come back to enjoy the pool and slide. I wasn't prepared for the water sports today, but next time it's on!!! Thanks for the fun day!
  • Living near Wisconsin Dells means my family has been to many water parks. This one was wonderful. The wave pool is always a favorite of our boys and the wave pool here was definitely the most enjoyed by our group. My boys also went on every slide with no lines anywhere! It was a wonderful day and an even better way to celebrate our middle son turning 15.
