Echo Lake Park is a park located along the Mount Evans Scenic Byway about 33.5 mi (54 km) west of Denver, Colorado. The park provides a stone shelter with picnic tables and barbecue grills on one end of the lake, and the 1926 Echo Lake Lodge (gift shop and restaurant service only) and an Arapaho National Forest campground are found at the other. Access to backpacking trails, including the Chicago Lakes trail and Lincoln Lakes trail, can be found adjacent to the lake. The park is part of the Denver Mountain Parks system.Plan to see Echo Lake Park and other attractions that appeal to you using our Evergreen trip itinerary builder site.

Beautiful lake in the middle of the trail. Great place for fishing if you are into that or just to soak in the nature. Lots of hiking options around it

The drive from Denver up to Echo lake takes a little over an hour and is a pretty drive. We wanted to drive up to the top of Mount Evans but it was too early in the year and it was not open yet. Crazy that they still have snow pack on the roads in early June! Next to the lake is a small rest and camping area. The trail winds its way deeper into the woods and around the lake and is a pretty walk. Get here early enough in the morning when everything is still and the water is like glass and you can see the reflection of the Rockies in the water for your pictures!

Beautiful hiking, hunting, fishing, snow sports, and nature viewing area. Definitely worth the visit. The road up is closed in the winter so I wasn't able to get to the top. But you can hike up, bring a jacket! There is a beautiful lake at the top too the information guide says 😁

This is a great recreational spot, but if you're looking for quiet, this isn't the place for you. You can easily hear the highway and at least at the time we went, there are a lot of people. One recommendation if you want less of a crowd, go to the back side. Also, the bathroom is cleaner.

Great place to snowshoe. Lots of trails to enjoy the snow but not have to struggle on most of the trails in deep snow because of the amount of people creating the path before you. Go father out towards Chicago lakes and you can really push out into the wilderness and get some great mountain views.

Fun place. Awesome scenery. The drive to the lake was just as pretty. Lots of wild life so drive careful. Get here early, this place gets busy starting around 10am - noon. There are bathrooms but prepare for a line.
