  • We walked around the lake in the winter - still beautiful and enjoyable, especially with the water! Looking forward to visiting other times of the year!

  • I am a regular visitor of this local park especially on fall and spring Friday afternoons when the lake trail proves less crowded. Parking has not been problematic for me, although I could see where finding a spot could be challenging on fair weather days and/or event days for disc golf and the like. County residents enter free of charge. The trail starts near the boat rental facility and winds around the lake nicely. The trail runs next to camping areas at one section and volleyball courts at another and a children’s play place and public restrooms at another. Park staff do a fair job maintaining the trail, although a combination of persistent wet conditions and bike use can make for some sporadic puddles in the aftermath. Elevation changes are infrequent as expected and gradual on the few occasions they happen. Wildlife tends to be minimally visible on the trail. Users are consistently courteous with bikers using audible announcements to warn walkers and joggers when passing. I have not tried the miniature golf or boat rental offerings but suspect they are likely quite enjoyable. I am glad this park exists and will continue to patronize when I want to get a couple of laps of pleasant scenery without having to drive outside the county.
  • I’ve recently been to this park which was lot of fun with so many activities for people of different interests. There’s kayaking, canoeing, train ride which sounds fun, workouts on trail, fishing, frisbee golf and of course camping 😀 The best part is it’s free for people residing in Fairfax county. There are many benches around the lake you’ll find during the trail, where you could relax for a bit. We’ve did the 5 mi trail and it was fun.
  • It's a beautiful, peaceful lake park. It is surrounded by various event arenas and spots for picnics. There is a spot with a little playground for kids. The parking is ample and free. Anyone interested in fishing can check this place out. There are so many benches and seating available near the lake. Farther away, there is an open barbecue spot too! There are restrooms near the lake for convenience. It is stroller friendly. Canoeing here can be a fun thing too given the scenic beauty. The park closes at 7 for rentals but you can choose to hang around until later if you have your own stuff or in general. Average time spent here ranges between 2 to 4 hours depending on the activity one is here for. Remember your sunscreens and bug repellants depending on when you are visiting!
  • One of my favorite local parks. Great, maintained trail around the lake that's good for walking or jogging. Camping here us great, you're in the middle of the woods, no parking lots in sight. You can reach the loop from the campgrounds as well. A bundle of firewood costs a little over $9.
  • Burke Lake Park has something for everyone tucked away in its 888 acres. Whether it’s riding on the miniature train or carousel, picnicking, testing your skills on the mini-golf or disc golf courses, indulging in a scoop of ice cream, taking in the sights from the tour boat, fishing, biking, boating, camping, or taking a walk around the 4.7 mile lake trail, Burke Lake is the perfect place to start you next family tradition.
