  • Beautiful place for a hike amongst the giant redwoods. We saw 4 banana slugs the last time we were there. The trails are beautiful and kept up well. The staff were all knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to. We also love camping at the campground. It’s beautiful and the sites are large and well maintained. One of our favorite places for sure!
  • This is a weekly must go by myself or shared with others. My favorite path is along the San Lorenzo river - where the locals go mostly - some with their dogs. There are many groves with tables, bathroom buildings and so much serenity. Wildlife too. Being there is awesome all year round. I could go on and on ~ this park is a major reason I live here - about seven minutes from the entrance.
  • Went here 10/22 with my family. This was the highlight of our time in Santa Cruz. When you go stop by the visitor center first, learn about the trees, then go outside and walk through the various trails. We learned all about the beautiful redwoods and how the park came to be. The trails are vary walkable and most are handicapped accessible. There are trees you can climb on, and inside. They have some restrooms in various areas of the park. They also have a small gift shop that my kids really enjoyed.
  • Some gigantic redwood trees. Not so affected by the fires what we could see. A really nice easy walk through the woods from the visitors center. Parking is $10 for one car. Well kept park. Easy to reach from the highway. We spent 60-90 min here.
  • First time seeing redwoods! My first visit to California and view of the redwoods. From the small amount of research I did, this place seemed to be one of the best spots in the nearby area to go. The kind woman at the gift shop suggested trails and the overlook. I found the overlook quite underwhelming. If you can start from the campground and hike there it would be worth it. But the hike from the visitors center is too far to be worth it. Didn’t ride the train but I did hear it running. An absolutely beautiful park worth visiting! Trails are marked well too.
