A vast expanse of pristine wetlands, Everglades National Park holds the distinction of being the largest tropical wilderness in the U.S. Overflow from Lake Okeechobee into the Florida Bay formed these wetlands, which are home to manatees, American crocodiles, Florida panthers, and an array of wading birds, land birds, and birds of prey. The diversity of plant and animal life here has earned the park recognition as an International Biosphere Reserve, a World Heritage Site, and a Wetland of International Importance. It's one of only three places in the world to occupy a spot on all three lists. You'll find trails for hiking and biking in drier sections of the Everglades, while canoeing, kayaking, boating, and fishing are popular along the many waterways. December to March is the most popular time to visit due to comfortable temperatures, drier air, and lower mosquito activity. This is a great park, perfect to walk surrounded by nature. There are plenty of trails to walk and it’s a beautiful experience to be so close to the animals, specially the alligators (because there are no fences) 🤯 Keep in mind that there is no food or consessions on site, so it’s important to take some water and snacks with you (specially if you have kids). 100% recommended as an attraction to enjoy nature in sunny days 👍

Never been anywhere quite like this, obviously a pretty stark difference from anywhere else in the US, but super cool. As terrifying as the alligators can be, they are super chill, I had more of a problem with the insects honestly. The mangrove tunnels are absolutely a once in a lifetime experience, would totally go again

Seeing all the wildlife and foliage on the bike ride was a unique experience. Bring water, sunscreen, and snacks because there is nothing on the trail once you start your journey. Observation tour gave great views.

I just went today and I had a great time! I visited the Shark Valley part of the park. I did a walk along the trolley/bike trail and saw some alligators. There was even a gator on the side of the trail that was only 7 feet from me and sat in the sun. I never thought that I would ever be that close to a gator. I also saw some gators down the trail. I only had a couple of hours in the park, but the minimum time produced a great experience.

A good place to watch some wild animals in Florida. It is amazing to enjoy the beautiful nature here. You can rent a bicycle or take a train tour at the tourist center. Or just walk around. Nice national park indeed.
