  • This was a fantastic activity for our family, which included 2 5 year olds. They loved it and wanted to stay longer. Well worth the beautiful drive up as well. And we found some fossils!

  • Fun stop, but would have been better if the kids were a little older. We ended up just buying a bag of potential fossils for $20 to open at home which has been a nice activity post-trip. I believe on....  more

  • This place is great!! We took our teenage boys here and had the best time!! Such a unique experience. It was so exciting to crack open something and find a fossil!! This was one of our favorite things out of the many things we did in Colorado. The people running the place were so sweet and helpful. I wish we would have had time to go back!
  • Pretty neat place. Beware! The website specifically says that it is $15 per collector, cash only. Nowhere does it say you have to have a paying adult to go up to the area with kids. When you get there, they tell you you cannot be up there supervising your children if you don't pay the $15... So you drive over an hour, bring enough cash for your kids and they tell you you have to wait in the parking lot. So, bring money for the adults.... So ridiculous! I debated raring it at three stars because of this but it really was a neat place. They are very strict on your hour as well. I feel like it took us a little while to get in the groove and figure out how to find fossils so it also might be worthwhile to bring money to do a second hour.
  • This place was surprisingly a lot of fun. The price is reasonable, and we found a lot of cool fossils (lots of sticks, leaves, and a couple of bugs). The people ru. I got the place were also super friendly and helpful which is always a plus. Definitely a fun place to spend an hour or so.
  • I don't live nearby, but was researching places to visit on a possible future trip. I saw the fossil kits they have available to be purchased and shipped. It came quickly, undamaged, and is perfect! Thank you!
  • Visiting Colorado from Ohio this week and decided to make time to stop at the fossil beds, the experience was so worth it and we found many awesome fossils we irhin an hiur, including a small insect. The staff were so lovely and they even let us stay a bit longer than our hour because we were having so much fun. I would recommend anyone visiting or living in central CO to make time to stop here. Our guide Delaney was amazing despite it only being her second day on the job!
