We offer outdoor entertainment and amusement for tourist singles, couples, families and groups.A visit to BeachnRiver Canoe and Kayak Rentals represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Foley route planner to plot your vacation.
Although we rent kayaks we are not "about" kayaking.
We are all about helping our guests enjoy nature, wild and domestic animals and mostly? about relaxing and enjoying the beautiful, still river!
Our pace is slow and calm --- like the river we are so proud of.
If you are
nice,
polite,
respectful of elders and others;
If you can enjoy the quiet,
natural beauty of nature without having to get drunk and rowdy;
YOU are our PERFECT guests!
The "thrill" of kayaking will be to see a unique cultural lifestyle and to enjoy a varied landscape you will not see on most other rivers.
Kayaking offers the most eco-friendly opportunity to enjoy a river experience --- and YOU are your own captain.
Here's what to expect:
You will begin in a narrow creek with a SHADED Live Oak canopy
which leads to a quaint residential riverfront community of homes on pilings
to Southern Plantation-style homes
to pine forests teaming with wildlife
to sunny coastal grass marshes
to a broad river lined with shrimping boats.
The challenge?
To inhale and mentally absorb the sights, sounds, scents and culture that is so unique to the Alabama Gulf Coast.
Come spend an afternoon with BeachnRiver Kayak Rentals. We think you'll have a "Beachin' Good Time!"

River Rick was great. The website is very clear about when they are open, how to contact them, etc. I appreciate the fact that they don't have a cell phone and refuse to rent kayaks if the weather..... more

What an amazing day kayaking on the Bon Secour River with my sister and BFF! We are so glad we found this gem of a place. If you’re in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area, this is a MUST!

I drove for three hours to be told they are closed. Not professional. They need to update their website and trip advisor if they are no longer in business.

River Rick will fix you up for a great time. This is not a high - maintenance tourist place, it's a simple kayak rental on a beautiful backwater feeding into Bon Secour bay. Read the website and you'll be fine.

The owner was great! The kayaks were in great shape and the voyage peaceful. Cash only! $35 for singles and $75 for a double.

Even my kayaking pro boyfriend and friends love this, in my experience, because it's a completely different kind of chill river adventure- it's intimate. It feels like being on a jungle river that is also in a town. The river feels private and the way you get to it is unique. Actually, everything about the business, BeachnRiver Canoe and Kayak Rentals, is unique! The owners, River and Betty, are a friendly and lively couple with so much personality and they offer great, gracious help- they're especially helpful for newbies to kayaking and outdoor adventures. They can make everyone feel at ease though. They seem to prefer kind and gracious people too. Demanding, irresponsible, drunk, and unprepared people are definitely not a good fit- they may even turn you away. Those people often have a bad time and THEN write bad reviews or worse, cause problems for the neighbors. The river IS in a neighborhood, though it's private feeling. It's also clearly a small operation, mom and pop biz, don't ask for discounts! Read the rules- plan well for heat, sun, and your family's needs (drinking water, sunblock, snacks, wristwatch). It's chill, but it's still a challenge, depending on how fast, long, and far you go!

Outstanding day of kayaking. Not your normal kayak experience. From a narrow jungle style river to wide open river and bay. If you're up to it, paddle out to the shrimp boats as they unload their daily catch (4 hrs round trip). River Rick is a great host as he sends you off telling us if we're not back by dark he'll come looking for us .....after he eats dinner, LOL.. Well worth the experience.

So, you drive through his yard...no you aren't in the wrong place! :) My fiance, niece, and I had a great time. It was my first time kayaking and my 9 year old neice's first time to kayak without being in a kayak with and adult. He showed us how to paddle and warned us not to get too close to each other or we'd get popped in the mouth - my niece missed that part because I got hit in the mouth. We paid $35 cash for each kayak; he explained the route to us and off we went. It was great and we look forward to doing it again!
