Bentonville Battlefield State Historic Site, Four Oaks

Impressed by our experience here! The workers in the visitor center were so nice and helpful! We took our time and explored all the battlefield had to offer. I loved being able to dial in for the phone guided tour. We went on the driving tour as well! Just an awesome visit with tons of information!

Guided tours of the battle sights. Cemetery is a mass grave sight. Well maintained grounds with handicap access. There's also a visitors center with maps and souvenirs. The main house was used as a makeshift hospital during the battle. There is also a separate kitchen for the house that you can check out. A workers cabin can also be seen. The house well is capped off.

Oh no... they close at 5 and I arrived @ 5:30 🙄. Since I still have a couple hours to drive to get to my destination, I drove around for a little bit and located Stop 1 Confederate High Tide. The Battlefield is very clean and spacious. It has informative historic markers and signs. If you have time, I highly recommend doing the entire driving tour.

I took my son to experience the Heavy Thunder Summer Artillery program. The reenactment was wonderful. The re-enactors were very knowledgeable, kind and patient with all my questions.

Nice little museum that has great animated map of battle inside. Driving tour just ok. Most of battlefield not preserved but used as fields for crops now, though there are a few trenches.
