  • Even if the tours are booked, come for a drink! Our tour guide, Ralph (who was awesome!) told us when this distillery was first built, it was envisioned as a "destination distillery" (like the beer gardens of Europe), and in my opinion that is absolutely what it has been restored to today. The grounds are absolutely stunning, with a variety of places to sit and enjoy the creek, and a botanical trail to stroll. The tour was totally fascinating, but even if you can't get on a tour, it would be completely worth stopping by just to enjoy a cocktail in such a beautiful setting. I wasn't blown away by their spirits drunk neat, but they made great cocktails, and the entire experience was phenomenal overall.
  • A great tour made even better thanks to our tour guide, Rich. He was extremely knowledgeable on the history of the property and made the tour a memorable one. The tasting was awesome as well, as we weren't expecting a cocktail style tasting of their products besides the bourbon. Would highly recommend to anyone starting their bourbon tours.
  • Castle an Key is one of the most interesting and enjoyable distilleries we have been to. The history is a wonderful story that adds so much to the tour. Seeing the progress they have made in such a short time is amazing. We look forward to seeing the progress of the continuing restoration. This is a hidden gem and must see if you are visiting Lexington KY.
  • Castle & Key was a highly recommended place from family and friends and it did not disappoint! The grounds are stunning and have so much history to them. The distillery makes bourbon, rye, vodka and gin so the tasting included a couple of cocktails (which was a nice change of pace from the rest of the bourbon trail). A must stop, in my opinion.
  • One of the coolest distilleries and a beautiful tucked away location. We didn't have a tour lined up but stopped in to check out the grounds and have a drink at their bar. Very, very cool place and great outdoor space. Highly recommend checking it out and I'll be back for a tour!
