  • Truly one of the most beautiful and amazing shrines you will ever experience. It is the site of the martyrdom of St. Isaac Joques, Rene Goupil, and John Lalande. The beauty of the spacious grounds, the quiet tranquility, and the total presence of martyrs who died for the love of Jesus is truly an experience to behold. Only about 45 minutes west of Albany, NY. Open each year from May through October.
  • I came here often as a kid with my family and school. But I hadn't been in years. Wow. They really do such a beautiful job at keeping the sacred grounds clean and tidy. I enjoyed going to Mass in the American Indian style church and praying the rosary in front of the Pieta. The status, in general, and wonderful. It's such a nice time to get away from busy, daily life and escape to the woods for quiet prayer. I highly recommend this shrine for both locals as well as out-of-towners.
  • i was all excited driving up to this place. i love the old stairs, stone walls and statues. to get a picture of them was worth the 45 minute drive. but there is so much more to see here you could spend 4 or 5 hours here to soak it all in. the ground are kept well, the views are excellent and there is tons of history to learn. also i believe the total of all the grounds is 400 acres. the Coliseum i was told can hold up to 10,000 people. yes, it is impressive but way to big for me to worship in.
  • If we can catch the shrine when the doors are open we would enjoy it alot better. We have just been able to walk around it and look into the windows so far this year. We have been going for two years so far just to walk around the grounds and sit on the bench overlooking the thruway and the river and mountains.. otherwise great place to visit..
  • This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to! I'm not Catholic, but I am a Christian and have attended a few masses there. More often then not, I ride my Harley there to enjoy the scenery and the great ride.
