We stopped by after seeing a flyer for it. Lots of trains to go through, very interesting. We walked down The Strand after going through the trains. We just missed the Polar Express. Recommend this...

Very nice museum with a nice train station building and plenty of railroad engines and cars to see. It was a very hot day but some of the cars are air conditioned so you can cool off a bit before continuing your visit. I spent about and hour and 15 minutes to see it all. It is not expensive and well worth a visit.

What a fun experience it was! Visiting this museum definitely brought a perspective of technology, time and speed to my children. It was clean and we loved the status. The station and building take you back in time. Nice to also see some Galveston history. The different kind of trains, mail, passenger or business also teaches without words how society was. It's a small museum with a lot of information. The caboose ride is short but I believe a must. Check the schedule and buy your tickets online its limited space. Museum ticket different from ride. Parking is free. Hope you enjoy it.

A must see for railroad enthusiasts. Interesting displays including working engines and cars. I LOVED the visit. The caboose ride was short, but cool. Takes you by the Cruise Line terminal. Ships were in port on our visit, so that was great.

If you love trains, this is a must see. Trains from many eras and it was interesting to see the inside of a mail car and imagine picking up the bags from stops along the way and the sorting that went on in the car itself. The passenger cars reminded us of the train trip we took to Mexico in 1980 along with the diner car. Displays of Harvey House dishes from that time of travel. Veterans are free, but reasonable admission. The only thing that would've been better is if it hadn't been raining.
-
10 minute ride. Recommend standing on the inside by the trains to actually view all the trains from the outside. Freedom to view 95% of trains. It was cool ! The museum was nice too , a lot of history ! And there's a penny souvenir machine !
