Michael Jackson's childhood home We drove around the neighborhood which was pretty sketching, the home is a cute white House which was really easy to find, not much to do in the area other then a quick stop to see the out side of the home. 🎶 🎵 🎼 Fun facts: originally built in 1949, purchased by Joseph and Katherine in 1950 for $8,500, consists of only 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 672 square feet of living space and measures about 100 feet deep by 50 feet wide.

We were driving from Chicago to Detroit, so stopping in Gary wasn't an issue for us as it was just off the interstate. Otherwise, there's absolutely no sense coming. Basically, you see an ordinary house like all others in the neighborhood, with a small statue and three pavement plaques from family. You cannot enter it, there's no museum, no other info,...nothing. I hope it will be improved some day, but at least we payed our respect to MJ pop icon.

Not sure that this place really deserves 5 stars because there really isn't much to see. But Michael Jackson deserves them for his contribution to the music world and having the top selling Thriller album. Wish they would put up a bigger plaque with more information on. That would make the place much better.

My parent's home where I was raised is just less than 10 minutes away from here. My father brought me here when I was a child, so I wanted to also bring my children here before they grew up as well. I always forget to bring them since we moved away nearly 18 years ago. We sporadically stopped by. The house was easy to find, and only a few other people were viewing the house. It's beautiful! So glad I finally got to see it again. RIP Michael Jackson.

Takes around 5-10minutes of your time depending how long you want to just observe. Wish the memorial stone was still up. But, if you're a fan worth the stop. The photos are basically the experience.
