  • A nicely laid out local museum. Has much to see. Old classroom, recorders office, court room, jail, native history, etc. Price, $1. Good for a hour or so.

  • Just chock full of information and in a historic building. Super informative and very well done. Can get lost for hours & still have more to see. Very well done and run by locals. Super!

  • Amazing museum! Our favorite was learning more about Snowshoe Thompson and how he ate beef jerky, crackers and melted snow while delivering mail. Staff was very kind and shared fun facts about George Ferris who invented the ferris wheel and lived in Carson City.
  • The accounts and photos and heirlooms of John "Snowshoe" Thompson were well worth the visit. A Norwegen who became a US citizen, crossed and recrossed the huge Sierra Nevada range in any and all weather. Carried mail like the Pony Express, and rescued individuals stranded in a blizzard. Amazing, godly man.
  • Interesting, clean, and very friendly staff! They have a small area to purchase a nice selection of books.
  • My experience was exciting, had a tour with the certified Docent , Miss Mary who just happens to be (93) years young. The Genoa Courthouse museum has so much history. It's one of the Best tours I have been on. It's a chance to go back in time, Great History books for sale on Nevada. It's $5.oo dollars to enter the museum, but it's worth the weight in Gold to have so much history of Nevada right at your fingertips.* If your travels take you to Nevada check out both museums, Douglas County Historical Society museum in Gardnerville NV, and Genoa NV Museum. Every second Thursday evening of Each month is the Museum Lecture and great demonstrations that enhance your interests. Check it out for a night out on Second Thursday of each month, Memberships are available with a gift for signing up same night.
  • Neutral rating. It is 2:50 pm on Tuesday and the museum is closed. Google Maps shows today's museum hours as 10 am to 4:30 pm 😕 Looks like the museum may be undergoing repairs. No answer when I tried their phone number, and could find no further info online. 🤷‍♂️
