  • Although there is no furniture, this is a beautiful example of planter architecture. The grounds are beautiful as well, docents were very helpful.

  • Fantastic place! In my opinion, this is the best plantation tour in SC. Crazy to be in a place that George Washington visited!

  • Beautiful site, and full of South Carolina history. Highly recommended. Bring bug spray!! The mosquitos were bad even in March.

  • The tour of the plantation mansion is great, unlike any other plantation mansions we did. I took the one with the woman tour guide, very interesting and informative. A friend had the male tour guide, said he was also extremely knowledgeable about history and hilarious with bad jokes.
  • Hannah was a great knowledgeable tour guide of the house. The house and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Also have a small store with souvenirs and snacks available to purchase. We had a great time.
  • This site is a historical treasure. The grounds are beautiful (except for the swarms of mosquitos...BRING BUG SPRAY). Very informative signage and rangers at the site. Great gift shop too.
  • Was driving through SC and wanted to visit a charity- or state-owned plantation and pulled into this place, coincidentally perfectly timing the 2pm guided tour. Apparently the usual guide had just gone home sick and the groundskeeper Anthony filled it as the guide. It was one of the first tours he had done and he did a great job. We really enjoyed the visit and touring the former rice plantation property.
  • Great historical tour. Bring bug spray. Free if you have a yearly state pass!
