Along the way, you'll be rewarded with spectacular views of valleys, glacial lakes, waterfalls, tundra, and wildlife. The Jackson Glacier overlook features some of the best views of all. • The ambience was great. I loved the service from Collins and found value for my money too. Great place for taking photos too.

  • The views are incredible, but it's too crowded. The reservation system doesn't seem to be making much difference other than making it a hassle.

  • While I have never gotten to drive the entire road I have repeatedly driven parts of it. By the time I arrive in Montana for the winter, most of the road is closed. Still, I am happy to drive in as...

  • The biggest problem is getting road reservation. If you do not have the reservation, you can only travel after 4 PM. This road is worth every second of your time. It has absolutely gorgeous views almost every corner. Mountains, amazing trails, lakes and wildlife everywhere. We drove over this road 4-5 times and every-time we had a great time. Parking is challenge however it is not that bad. We spotted bears near St Mary lake to St Mary Falls. You must have bears spray and stay in group. This is fantastic road.
  • Great drive, beautiful views, lots of hiking along the way. There's many spots you can pull over to snap views of the mountains. Plus all the various hiking that can be done. I would recommend hiking to Hidden Lake, hike part of the Highland trail from Logan pass, hike to St. Marys/Virginia falls. You truly don't experience the park unless you do some hikes. If you can't you can't but if you can, do it!
  • Lulu was inspired by the rugged mountains, waterfalls, weeping walls, and clear/colorful rivers! The water is so clear with colorful rocks scattered non-stop throughout the rivers. Saw some trout (aka Rainbow Fish from the book), deer and a prairie dog. Give yourself plenty of time to stop and take in the waterfalls. Be prepared for a narrow, steep, and windy road at t times.
  • "For purple mountain majesties" it's hard to beat the the famous Going-to-the-Sun road in Glacier National Park. While there are many seasonal restrictions that you need to pay attention to, it is a showcase of melting glaciers, alpine meadows, carved valleys, and spectacular lakes. Glacier National Park encompasses more than 1 million acres and includes parts of two mountain ranges, 130+ named lakes, 1,000+ species of plants, and hundreds of species of animals including mountain goats to grizzly bears. It is the centerpiece of what has been referred to as the "Crown of the Continent Ecosystem," a region of protected land encompassing 16,000 square miles. With over 700 miles of trails, three campgrounds, two chalets, and six hotels/lodges/inns, Glacier is a paradise for adventurous visitors seeking wilderness and beauty. Well worth a visit. Check it out! "The mountains are calling. I must go." ~ John Muir
  • Beautiful & scenic highway. They close this road from Sep 30th for the winter. We went on Sep 30th, and the fall colours have done wonders . Lots of spots to stop to enjoy the most spectacular views. There is a small water falls on this way, a very small hike to reach here. A must visit!
