  • Terrible road in. Expect a at least one flat tire. Scenery is not as pretty as in the park. Most of the forest is dead due to either/both beetle kill or fire. Waste of a day in Glacier.

  • Kintla is one of the 2 most northerly of the park lakes. It takes a few hours of driving on gravel roads outside of the park to get here but it's well worth it for the views.

  • Down a long, one lane, dusty dirt road through forest and meadow, lies a lake near the most remote corner of GNP, and it is pretty! The campground was full yet quiet, except near the lake, and the restrooms were surprisingly pleasant. The water was clear and cold, and the lake bed was covered in pebbles that were great for skipping on the glassy surface!
  • Beautiful, remote and a little hard to get to. You know when the Ranger describes the road as SPICY that it’s going to be fun.
  • FANTABULOUS....OMG!! I managed to get out here with a friend and we had a stellar time hiking along the north trail out to Upper Kintla then ran into a thunderstorm and decided to turn back. Wish we had pressed on it would have been well worth it. It is a bumpy dirt road to this point from Polebridge Mercantile but well worth it. Bowman lake is killer too.
  • Absolutely stunning! The drive was a little sketchy in my Chevy Cruze, but we made it! We kayaked the lake with our gear and camped at the first B.C. site. Kintla was one of our favorite memories of our trip!
  • Absolutely stunning lake!! Good for a nice swim skipping rocks. The kintla lake hike is about 6 miles to the first camp ground and 11 to the upper camp ground. Nice easy hike with great views
