  • Lake McDonald really is as beautiful as all the pictures you see of it. Of course some of the pics you see are photoshop enhanced but they don't need to be.

  • Lake McDonald in the Late Fall is worth seeing even when the Sun Road is closed. The skies are clear of smoke and there is a light dusting of snow on the mountain tops.

  • We drove by this lake numerous times while visiting the park. Exceptionally beautiful. As an amateur photographer, I appreciated the changes given the light and time of day.

  • Beautiful scenery. We went here first week of June so the mountains still had snow. The reflection of the mountains on the lake were breathtaking. Make sure to rent a boat to enjoy the views!
  • Gorgeous views, clear blue water, and some of the freshest air you’ll breathe. We rented kayaks and spent a few hours paddling the shores on a relatively windy day. It was worth it, but in retrospect probably would’ve rented on a different lake or stream in the park. Ended up stopping along the southern shore and swimming, which was great. Cold, but great. The views of the lake driving up GTS road are phenomenal as well. Overall, worth checking out from the Apgar area. Consider a kayak or boat rental, but be prepared for some wind. And definitely get out for a swim, weather permitting.
  • One of the main highlights of the park. The water here is crystal clear and one can see the colored rocks under the water. Beautiful scenery overall.
  • ... my son's favorite lake,my favorite park.best of all park I've seen.this park is high elevation,so the view are so pretty.so many stop to take picture and have picnics, tables and chairs and restrooms in the park.rocks lake mountai view on sunset seem to be the thing we do alot of.we saw falls and wild goats.i would love to visit this park 😀 again and again please 😆. I would recommend this park it's so big that you kill hours here, enjoying the view and looking for wild animal and hiking and doing trails.
  • Gorgeous lake within GNP! Plenty of trail around and near the lake. An epic waterfall at the head of the lake. A historic, cozy lodge on the water. Boat rides, swimming, and sunbathing. Definitely worth a visit!
