Cutting through the Rocky Mountains inside Glacier National Park Logan Pass sits along the Continental Divide at an elevation of 2,026 m (6,646 ft). The pass, the highest point in the park accessible by car, is home to grizzly bears, mountain goats, and bighorn sheep as well as wildflowers, glacier lilies, and alpine plants. Two popular hiking trails connect at the pass, so you can continue your ascent on foot if you like. Check at the visitor center at the top of the pass for information on hiking trails and possible wildlife activity. Bring snacks, as there is nowhere to buy food. Be prepared for heavy crowds during the peak summer season; you can board a free shuttle bus to avoid trying to find a parking spot at the top. My favorite location on the Going to the Sun Road. Exceptional views from every angle. Access to Highline Trail, which was a bit if a nail biter if you don't like heights.

Though parking can be tough here, visiting this pass and center and the surrounding area is worth the effort. There are plenty of restrooms and exhibits, indoor and outdoor. The trail to Hidden Lake starts out the back door and is along a boardwalk for a good portion, though I still recommend bringing water and good shoes or well-fitting sandals. There's a couple herds that appear to love the are as well - Bighorn Sheep and Mountain Goat! BTW, visit the Hidden Lake overlook - it's very worth the climb!

Anyone heading to Glacier National Park, Going to the Sun Road and Logan Pass are essentials. Where with friends, family, or solo. While many with make a bee line to Highline Trail, there is much to offer at Logan’s. The hidden lake and panoramic vista’s just past the visitor’s center are breathtaking. Also the overlook viewing area near the entrance to Highline is a must. We love heading up as a family to have a wondrous time playing in the snow in early/mid July. Tossing some snowballs or making frosty’s cousin’s. Also the amazing wildlife, including mountain goats abound!!!

You definitly want to stop here. Logans pass has great views, scenery. Wildlife, etc. Just be aware, parking can be full due to the number of visitors. But no worries, it's worth the wait
-
Great place for a short hike to hidden lake, hard to find a parking spot during peak season.
