Picture Lake, Glacier

this was a bucket list location for me to visit and it did not disappoint! beautiful drive up mt baker highway and got there right at sunset. two small lakes across from one another with absolutely breathtaking views of Mt Shuskan October 1st 2022 the fall colors are just starting .. get up there before its gone. the snow will start to fall very soon

Came here on a clear day in July. With a camera, you can get the classic Picture Lake image. A pleasant 90 minute drive along the Mt. Baker highway from I-5 and you're there. It's supposed to be one of the most photographed vistas in America and I believe it. There's an easy trail around the lake (elevation 4157 feet), with views of Mt. Shuksan (elevation 9131 feet) in the background.

Very nice view of Mt Baker along with the beautiful lake! If it is a bright sunny day, do carry your sun glasses/cap.

Been there few times mostly in the summer, thought of visiting during this time of year, went today to catch the reflection on the sunny day. But had a pleasant experience seeing frozen lake. Yes the lake is already frozen, but what an amazing break taking view of Mt. Shuksan in front of the lake, my kid enjoyed a lot throwing the snow balls in the frozen lake which skidded away for a quite distance. Lots of snow accumulated as well near to the lake but had been cleaned. Artist point was closed for the year but caught the stunning view of Mt. Baker as well while driving.
