Cherry Republic of Glen Arbor, Glen Arbor

Our family stopped in for some ice cream and ended up staying for awhile to enjoy the nice outdoor seating and family games available. We enjoyed the samples in the store and picked up an amazing tasting cherry BBQ sauce and some candies for the kids. We liked the BBQ sauce so much we had to try the pulled pork shareables dish which didn't disappoint.

We had this on our travel list because of the specialty store but learned that it is so much more. We had been exploring Sleeping Bear Dunes all morning, working our way north from Empire. We pulled into Glen Arbor, and our first stop was Cherry Republic. We were ready for some lunch, so we grabbed a table on the patio and used the QR code ordering system to place our order. We were super impressed that you could leave the ticket open and add to your order as you ate your meal. We decided to get the Chicken Cherry Salad sandwich. The classed chicken salad sandwich with dried cherries tasted great. The cherry sandwich bread also made a big difference. We were very pleased with our lunch choice. I also got the cherry lemonade which was tasty and hit the spot. The young staff that brought the food to our table were friendly and paid attention to details, seeing that we needed an extra plate and getting us one without asking. After lunch, we went to the food specialty store. They had lots of products available for tasting throughout the store. I picked up a basket full of items, many of which were in glass jars. I knew I would not get all the items on the plane when I headed back home, so I decided to ship a box back. The shipping rate was reasonable at $12.00 for my items. When it arrived at my house, I was blown away by the quality of the shipping packaging, and it made me want to order gifts for the holidays for my friends and family. All my items made it safe and sound, and I cannot wait to cook with them. Also at the Cherry Republic is the ice cream stand selling delicious ice cream flavors featuring cherries and the tasting room where you can taste various wines. We did not sample either of these options, but they looked great.

Really liked how this place had a little bit of everything! Also whatever they didn't have the stores right next door did! A beautiful part of the neighborhood and a must stop if you are not from the area! Had a really good time and the gift shop seemed to be well taken care of.

This is one of the best places to eat in Glen Arbor on the wonderful M22. You can order a tasty meal and cherry infused drink on your phone and the staff will deliver it directly to your table outside. My family loves enjoying their ample variety of samples in the store while we wait. They have several dessert options, but obviously try the Cherry Pie at the end of your meal. We like to stop back in the gift store to buy our favorites for home (Cherry Salsa, Cherry Jam and Dark Chocolate covered cherries). The staff is very friendly and helpful and will box up anything you want to bring back as a gift. Their selection of wines are available in the winery. Finally, you can see how far you can spit cherry pits in the back. Anybody visiting the Sleeping Bear Dunes has to make a stop at the Cherry Republic!

This place is usually packed so it was nice to visit in December when we have this quaint store to ourselves. The addition of the pub since our last visit is an upgrade and we really enjoyed the Cherry IPA. There are so many fun cherry products to explore here. My kids insisted on the Cherry barbecue sauces and my wife bought chocolate covered cherries in bulk and a lot of other fun cherry foods. Come and discover.
