Create an itinerary including Navajo Point
Several major bends of the Colorado River are best seen from Navajo Point. Sited 2,285 m (7,498 ft) above sea level, Navajo is the highest lookout point on the south rim of the canyon, providing west and eastern views of the river. Bring a picnic basket and a camera and get ready to see the brilliant colors change patterns over the canyon walls as the sun rises or sets. • With each turn the views change with the sun and the clouds. For some reason though, the color here was incredible. Great hiking paths and view points. Just beautiful and worth the venture to this....  more

  • We stopped here on our way out of the park to catch the sunset. A totally different view than by the visitors center, and a really breathtaking place to take in the sunset. We had to walk a bit...

  • What an incredible experience enjoying the opportunity to see this amazing natural sight. Plan to give yourself plenty of time to absorb these views. Better yet, plan your day so you can be there at the sunset. Absolutely breathtaking.
  • It is awesome, magnificent, and impressive at the same time. The contact with nature in such a context remains a unique impression, these colors and this place remain forever engraved in the memory. We can easily imagine the life of the Indians living in such landscapes, the daily adventure, and the immense respect that this nature must impose.
  • It was snowing and raining most of the day, and the canyon was mostly covered by clouds and mists. However, it’s the first time that I encountered the snow, very unique experience for me! Cheers!
  • It was amazing to discover the east side stops after spending so many years just going to the village. Totally worth the time!
  • Words fail to capture this absolute gem to mankind. Navajo Point along with Grandview Point are my top 2 favorite spots on Desert View Drive. This was a humbling and simply amazing experience everyone should have at least once in their life.
