Part of one of the world's Seven Natural Wonders, North Rim Visitor Center provides an inspiring and remarkable landscape without the massive crowds of the South Rim. Begin your trip at the visitor center, where you can pick up maps and brochures, talk to a ranger, and view exhibits about the canyon. One of the best ways to experience all that the North Rim has to offer is a hike through its wild and breathtaking scenery. If you'd rather not get that much exercise, cruise the scenic drive. Temperatures here are generally lower than the South Rim due to its greater elevation, so bring a sweater. North Rim guided mule treks are easier to book than South Rim mule trips, which generally must be booked 13 months in advance. The employees and park rangers are very friendly at the visitor center. They offer a lot of information and give you directions to get some amazing views, as well as provide information you might need regarding the surrounding area. Did you know at the North Rim you can rent a cabin with that spectacular view?? It was news to me! I can't adequately describe or do justice to God's work, as seen in the Grand Canyon. It's breathtaking to say the least. However, in my opinion, the south rim does offer a broader and more open views. To me the North Rim felt cut off from the majority of the canyon and was only a sliver of the true view. But I can say it was great to see the Grand Canyon from the north rim, and the drive into the park was amazing.

I don't know what else to say except I have been to the south rim twice and the north rim views are spectacular. It feels like you are in the canyon as a lot of the trails jet out further than the South side. It is true that it takes a long time to travel to the lodge and then a long time to travel the second road down to Cape Royal but again it is amazing views. I wish we would have gotten there a little earlier so that there would have been less shadows at Cape Royal but it was amazing. If given the opportunity I would definitely choose to go back to the north rim versus the South room.

No words can describe the magnitude of the Grand Canyon! Our family visited both rims. Totally different experience on each side. You have the higher elevation on the north so the diversity of forest was really neat. You have to be strategic with food choices at north rim. We packed sandwiches every day and ate one meal on site. Thrilled we could see this awe-inspiring place with my family!

The north rim is so peaceful and not super crowded! We were amazed at the beauty. I’ve seen pictures my whole life of the Grand Canyon but until you see it in person the pictures don’t do it justice!

There is a visitor center with a store for most needs. Gas is available close by. We were lucky to get a prime camp spot and this view was mostly seen from camp or a very short walk. You would be in the trees and about a thousand feet higher (from what I was told) than the south rim. We were in spot 14 and had a nice view!
