  • My wife and I did a driving lighthouse tour around Lake Michigan. Grand Haven was one of the busier stops with plenty of visitors and beach goers. Great picture opportunity.

  • This is a larger more frequented park for the area. Lots of parking, dogs can be walked on the beach ( check posted signs for certain hours). Beautifully lit walkway to the lighthouse at the end. There is also an area to park and get out to take pics from the other side of the inlet. It's less crowded and has a different perspective for pictures. We like to come here because we can still see our dogs in the car when we come to get pics of sunset. Definitely a spot to come hang out for some fun time.
  • Grand Haven State Park will forever and always be my go-to beach; I grew up taking my grandpa’s boat out on the lake and swimming to/from the beach. It’s always a beautiful time, I especially love watching the sunset over the pier. It’s also generally kept pretty clean. Main thing to look out for is extra bold seagulls, because they can and will steal your food!
  • I loved walking the pier and seeing the red lighthouse up close. The walking area was clean and the beach was beautiful! There were people taking professional photos and it was such a good day for it! The water was pretty cold but the beach wasn’t overpopulated and the view was just breathtaking. Would love to come here again. You can get in with your state park parking pass or you can pay about $17 for the year pass.
  • We try to camp here at least once a year. The beach is amazing. Downtown is easy biking distance. The main drawback is that the sites are small - parking lot style. So we usually have to use the overflow parking (of which there is ample) for our vehicle.
  • A large enough beach that strangers don't have to pack too close together. The limited parking definitely helps with that. Plenty of volleyball nets, an RV park, and a walkway out to a small lighthouse.
