Spend a day hiking Jenny Lake Trail, located within one of the country's major national parks and offering sweeping views of Wyoming's foaming waterfalls and rugged mountain peaks. This 11.4 km (7.1 mi) trail offers hikes ranging from easy to strenuous; it attracts adventure seekers of all ages and fitness levels. The trail circles a lake created by glaciers about 12,000 years ago, and provides access to climbing routes leading to some of the tallest peaks of the Teton Range. If you don't feel like hiking back, you can board a boat for a return trip across the lake to the visitor center. Print or download a map of the trailhead before your visit, and be aware that black and grizzly bears inhabit the area. • Nice fun hike but can be very busy. At the top you can branch off and get to a point with really big views of the lake and the Tetons

  • Beautiful hiking trail. Plenty of parking. Option for taking a small boat to other side of lake $15 one way. Or hike one part of the lake, takes about 1 hour to reach the waterfall and 15 min more to the switchback to the viewpoint and then the canyons. I've seen all ages do this moderate hike. Wear good comfortable shoes and bring defensive bear 🐻 spray and bottle of water. Don't leave any food trail.
  • Beautiful area for a hike. We went on a Sunday so it was definitely busy. We took the trail to Hidden falls and back. Saw a black bear cub, a moose, marmots, and other little critters.
  • One of the most beautiful lakes in the park and in the country! The mountains reflect off the water so beautifully! I will always recommend this stop as well as the trail around to Cascade Canyon and Mosse Ponds! It has a toller coaster of elevation gain but is easily manageable.
  • Beautiful lake, lots of parking, lots of trails. Shuttle boat takes you to the other side so u can hike into cascade canyon. But boats website does not post times or when they shut down for the season, which in 2022 is last day of September. So we missed the boat:(
  • There’s a reason this lake is iconic and heavily trafficked most of the time. Dramatic views of the jagged mountains, a gorgeous large lake, and the soul-searching quiet you can find on its shores (in the fall). The ferries were closed for the season, and we came on a Monday afternoon in the middle of October, so there were hardly any other people at the lake, which allowed us to have one of the most peaceful (if not the most) experiences in my entire life. Not to mention the lake was so smooth, the mountains reflected on the surface. This was the calm before the storm, and we took full advantage. We barely made it past the trailhead because we kept stopping to sit on the rocky shores. Planned on hiking, but not disappointed to skip the hike and just enjoy the lake at our feet.
