The scenic roadway is the only one that goes through the park's center. A beautiful drive winding your way up to the top and back down again. Lots of opportunities to pull over and soak in the views of the lovely fall colours all the way to the horizon.

Must see stop in the Smoky Mountains. Beautiful view and stage where the park was dedicated by a former President. Straddles two states - really cool stop. Has plenty of parking and bathrooms.

I was there in July 2016 and it was a fun place to be and there trial to hike and the view as great. Being in two states at the same time is very interesting.

Serene just before daybreak. So very quiet one can hear even the slightest mountain breeze. I wanted to get a picture of a Smoky Mountains National Park sunrise but uuhh you know there is a reason they call this place "Smoky Mountains". My hike was perfectly peaceful but I found fresh animal droppings on the trail and I was hiking alone so I decided it best to head back before I ran into whatever animal left those droppings. The trail is clean with no trash along the trail.
