Antique Carousel, Greenport

Another summer and another trip to this little slice of a time-slip, when kids didn't have mobile phones and Nintendo Switches to entertain themselves. A beautiful and nostalgic carousel for kids of all ages. Adults can English it just as much as the children do. $2.50 a ride that lasts about five minutes. Located in the waterfront area of Greenport and steps away from stores, restaurants, and shops. Recommended!

My daughter loved this ride. We were on this for 5 rides. They have a game as the carousel goes around. You can get metal rings, and if you get the brass ring, you get a free ride.

My review is mixed: on one hand, the carousel is an amazing attraction for kids, and mine absolutely loved it. It’s also fairly cheap and good value. However, during the course of our one week trip (with daily carousel visits), the employees were indifferent at best, rude and hostile at worst. One day the town library hosted an event where all the kids could ride the carousel for free. The staff was TOTALLY unprepared for the number of visitors and took their stress out on the visitors, including children! Literal grown women were yelling at kids who were just trying to follow instructions but were given mixed information from various employees. It was absolute mayhem and unfortunately the employees handled it really poorly instead of with grace and kindness to the children, whose fault it was not.

Charming little bit of American history.. Look back to a simpler time where kids can be kids without spending a huge amount of cash. Kids and kids at heart will enjoy taking a spin without breaking the bank. Kids under 2 are free.
