Kontokosta Winery, Greenport

Definitely the best view of ant winery on LI. Huge lawn with picnic tables. Weird that they make you place a $5 reservation, there were only 4 other people here when we came but they let you keep the wine glass at the end which is cool.

The facilities are very nice. The grounds are nice as well. The staff isn't that friendly nor are they helpful. We were just a couple looking to try the local wines. The place was mostly empty yet, you can't help but feel the unwelcoming vibe from staff. The tasting flight is too expensive ($30 including the entry fee). We tried 2 different whites instead. They were not disgusting but they were also not good. It's what I would call sub $10 wine. I'm glad we didn't pay extra for the flight. It would have been a waste of money. We sipped a little, enjoyed the scenery, dumped the wine in the bushes and moved on. If you skip this place you wouldn't be missing out on anything.

Our favorite winery! We’ve been members since 2015. Their wines have a unique flavor and the atmosphere is the prettiest winery and the only on the water! 🍷🌊

Clarifying the $5 charge is entry and a glass, which you do get to keep. Not only can you do the tasting and wines, but there is a great lawn out back with fantastic sea views. We had the tasting flight, all the wines explained and a very enjoyable afternoon.

Always a wonderful experience here! Such a beautiful view! The white Merlot is absolutely delicious! Judy and Tony were the ultimate hosts! Very knowledgeable on all the wines!
