This is one of my favorite state parks in all of Pennsylvania. Two lakes, four campgrounds, rustic cabins, two beaches, miles of hiking trails and tons to do! An amphitheater with in season programs, the Masker museum. A great place for boating, I go there often with my canoe and kayak. Great birding especially in Spring. There's a viewing platform on Bear Wallow road on Lower Lake where Bald Eagles are regularly seen. The nest is close to the top of white pine on the far shore to the left of the water tower. Hiking trails are well blazed and maintained. Some connect directly to the surrounding state forest so you can make circuits of a few miles up to fifteen or more. The Bruce Lake Natural Area is a must see. Many trails are lined with blueberry bushes, so bring a container to collect them in, in July or later. Large black bear population and are seen quite often especially when the berries are ripe!

December 2021 camping Got here in the afternoon when allowed to park in my reservation RV spot. They have a great view of the lake here. If you walk around the water is on the other side as well which makes it look and feel great. The bathroom is clean, grounds are clean and each spot looks like they do try and make it a good experience for you. Mid December and no one really here which is why we came up here. It's nice not having anyone else here to destroy the experience/vacation. All that extra drama is nice to get away from. We found a few places around that had wood for $5 a bundle. It really wasn't too bad of a deal. The wood we bought definitely needed more time to cure. It wasn't horrible but it definitely popped and hissed. All things considered the price was right for how fresh it was. Stayed here for a four day weekend. Hope to come back and try again during the same time period.

This past weekend was our very first time here. We went camping. We stayed in the Rhododendron loop. The whole place was beautiful. The campsites were clean, the bathrooms were very nice and kept clean. We didn't have any problems except with the raccoons that kept us up both nights. I highly recommend this place. We loved it. We will be going back.

We had a blast and would love to come back and explore more of the park. Our group hung out at the main beach and some of us rented motor boats and others rented double kayaks from the marina in the park. It was a ton of fun exploring different parts of the lake which was huge. We fished and saw some wildlife. Noticed lots of camping areas and hiking trails. Next time we visit I'd live to camp and hike and get to explore more of the park. There seemed to be an endless amount of things to do in the area and we could have spent a whole week here and not have seen it all. Really beautiful area.

I came out there for my winter solo trip. Campground seemed nice. Busier than I expected it to be off season. But I see why. Bathrooms were very clean and warm. Lots of hiking. Has a nice title swimming beach at the Campground. Will defend plan to come back for summer time.
