Create an itinerary including Sunset Beach Park
Suit up, grab your board (or flippers), and hit the waves at Sunset Beach Park, one of the island's most legendary surfing spots. Nestled along Oahu's wild northern shore, the beach boasts long stretches of soft sand, swaying palm trees, and wide-open ocean views. Depending on the season, surfers flock to the area to catch some of its towering waves or participate in the famous Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. You can certainly join in, if you have the proper skills and knowledge. Otherwise, indulge in some of the region's most popular snorkeling and swimming zones, or just kick back and relax on the sand. Keep in mind while in the water that the beach has very strong riptides, so always follow basic safety precautions. • No public facilities. Parking is just along the Kamehameha Hwy. Pretty wild waves when we visited. Stayed for a couple of hours and watched the surfers do their tricks. There was a big monk seal on the beach and then watched it go back to the ocean. A really neat experience.
  • Stunning views of sunset, lovely long beach with dashing waves, clean sand, a little limited parking, sitting there just before the sunset felt heavenly, constant sound of waves hitting the shore, the views and the lovely sunset made our day. Highly recommended for a sunset view.
  • Came for the famous tree, stayed for the beautiful beach. Got here about 10:30 on a weekday and there was almost no one on the beach. It was pretty crowded by noon. Good spot to swim, surf or relax.
  • Nice beach, Restrooms available. Pictures are of Sand- zoomed in from my s9 phone, so much beauty and depth, I advise everyone to check sand with their phones so much hidden beauty!
  • Amazing view at this beautiful beach. It gets full quick so get there early in the afternoon for a breathtaking sunset! There is a food option close.
