  • This place is privately owned and such a treasure! Odd and exocentric, magical. Moss, cliffs and waterfalls everywhere. There's a fog everywhere. It's quite magical like a little fairy forest or...

  • Amazing place. Boulders, creeks to wade, waterfalls. And that's just the first 500 ft of the trail! An excellent place to bring the entire family. One adult and two kids was $32.50. Not sure how that that breaks down. We will return
  • Fun and informative. It was our first time visiting Dismal Canyon. We did a night tour in mid-October. Because of the timing and weather, there were fewer Dismalites to see. But our guide was excellent. He was knowledgeable and friendly. He told us the best time of year to go is in the Spring (around May). We’ll definitely go again, and next time we’ll do they day hike too. It’s such a beautiful place. And they do have cabins to rent. We haven’t stayed in one, but they looked inviting and cozy.
  • Amazing scenery needed more signage so one knows where to go. $12 ea adult lots of steep steps to climb so need a cane or staff if your weak in the knees or have vertico, slick spots go slowly. Absolutely amazing to see & experience at least once. 😃
  • It's a very beautiful place to visit. The hiking loop is only 1.5 miles so most people can finish it. Have a burger at the old fashioned soda counter before you hike and plan to stay after for a swim to cool off.
  • I absolutely loved Dismal Canyon. The loop trail is short- only 1.5 and easy to moderate in hiking difficult. The little mini-offshoots and cubbyholes (they are well marked and named on the map they give you when you check in) are generally a little more challenging and lengthen the time you need for the day hike. I recommend allowing 1.5 hours. More if you want to play in Rainbow falls or take advantage of their swimming hole above the canyon. Bill was our tour guide for the Dismalites night tour and he was the best. Really informative and entertaining tour and seeing the glow bugs is a rare treat.
