Atlanta Motor Speedway (formerly known Atlanta International Raceway from 1960 to 1990) is a 1.54-mile entertainment facility in Hampton, Georgia, United States, 20 miles (32 km) south of Atlanta. It has annually hosted NASCAR Cup Series stock car races since its inauguration in 1960.

The venue was bought by Speedway Motorsports in 1990. In 1994, 46 condominiums were built over the northeastern side of the track. In 1997, to standardize the track with Speedway Motorsports' other two intermediate ovals, the entire track was almost completely rebuilt. The frontstretch and backstretch were swapped, and the configuration of the track was changed from oval to quad-oval, with a new official length of 1.54-mile (2.48 km) where before it was 1.522-mile (2.449 km). The project made the track one of the fastest on the NASCAR circuit. In July 2021 NASCAR announced that the track would be reprofiled for the 2022 season to have 28 degrees (previously 24 degrees) of banking and would be narrowed from 55 to 40 feet which makes racing at the track similar to restrictor plate superspeedways. As a result, superspeedway rules are used at the track, despite being significantly shorter than Daytona or Talladega. Despite the reprofiling being criticized by drivers, construction began in August 2021 and wrapped up in December 2021. The track has seating capacity of 71,000 to 125,000 people depending on the tracks configuration.

Nice track with exciting racing. Supposed to be even better with the repave. Staff are friendly, bring your own food and drinks. Bathrooms well kept. Parking can be bad but there are shuttles. They have a gift shop and tour available. The tour now is driving your own car behind the guide and not the shuttle they used to have so you should make an appointment before going, this may change. I do wish they had more screens but the track is just small enough to see 95% of the racing as long as your not front row.

Folds of Honor race was great! We had a very nice day at the track. I really like that food and drinks can be brought in. However, I do wish there was better signage or warning that stadium seats are not allowed. Although my bad, I didn’t catch that on the website. Guess I was too worried about making sure my cooler size would be permitted. It resulted in a LONG walk back to the car because I was not going to pry with my seats. Missed the beginning of the race but overall a nice time.

Anytime we come here we turn up. The new paved track provided some interesting racing this past weekend. I still can’t put my finger on it. But we still had the time of our lives for the FOH 500 ‘22

I Love this track. Great side by side racing and entertainment. Everyone is so friendly. Plenty of staff and parking is easy. However exiting after the cup race can take awhile unless you have a strategy and the bathrooms definitely need a makeover. You can bring in pretty much anything food/drink wise. Which is nice because they don't usually have the best food and drink selection at NASCAR races to purchase. We'll definitely be back.
