Hanalei Beach stretches along 3.2 km (2 mi) of sand on the island's northern shore. The largest beach on the island, four separate areas combine to form the bay: Waikoko beach, Wai'oli Beach Park, Hanalei Pavilion Beach Park, and Black Pot Beach Park. Coral reefs beckon people to both ends of the bay. While here, you can go swimming, kayaking, windsurfing, or boating. With waves up to 6 m (20 ft), the bay is also a great place for surfing. Camping is allowed on Black Pot Beach with a permit. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Hanalei Beach by using our Hanalei trip planning site.

  • Beautiful beach with plenty of space to spread out. It was an easy trip from our resort in Princeville. Water was cool with some nice waves for the surfers.

  • This beach marks a lot of boxes: convenient location right in Hanalei, amenities (restrooms, shower, lifeguard, several parking lots), and good swimming/surfing. It's a large, wide stretch of beach...

  • Big and beautiful beach. I went around 3 pm and it was a big cloudy. The water was at the right temperature and we enjoyed on the beach. There are showers as well. We struggled a little bit to get the parking, since this is a popular beach.
  • This is a huge breach! Sand was powder soft and the waves are a little bigger but still enjoyable even for a beginner swimmer
  • This is a great beach with soft sand, lots of space, and fun water. We were there in mid October so the water is getting a little rougher, but still lots of fun and safe.
  • Beautiful, safe, peaceful and family-friendly beach. The waves are small and it is very clean. Parking is close and never had any problems finding a spot. The bathrooms are clean and the outdoor showers were available without a long
