Support local growers at Hilo Farmers Market, which is open daily. The market's 200 vendors sell everything from produce to handicrafts, but the market is also a hub of culture with live music and artists selling their wares. On certain days, locals are invited to rent a booth at a discount and sell their used books, second-hand clothing, and antiques. The market is its own community, and it provides a good way for visitors to get to know the locals. Visit the attraction's website for a list of featured vendors and to obtain online coupons for discounted goods. Our Hilo day trip planner makes visiting Hilo Farmers Market and other Hilo attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

There's a lot of fresh fruit that you can't get on the mainland (or at least the quality isn't good) and I'd recommend bringing/buying a knife or something to cut it with. We had the coconut juice...

I rate the market 5 stars. People are really friendly and kindhearted, they are willing to clean the fruits and berries for you. They are hardworking and responsible. Some of them work from 6 am which is really astonishing. Highly recommend to visit the place and to try local fruits. My favorite is coconut with fresh coconut meat and juice/water. Highly recommend

Very kind people with some yummy fruits and veggies! Honey something mango was really good. White pineapple was amazing! As long as it is correctly ripe - the first one we had was not great. Same with mountain apples, some were not ready to be picked let alone eaten, but the good ones were great. Red lychees are much better than brown as well.

Awesome freshness and great prices for fruits and vegetables. Prices are comparable at most stalls so do make your rounds and try to buy from all not just the first stall you came across. Saturday brings out the most vendors with lots of baked goods. Street parking are easy to find.

Lot’s of bargains to be discovered here. On one side of the street you have your arts and crafts, jewelry, souvenirs and t-shirts. As well as a couple of food venues and restrooms. Side note, the restrooms aren’t the greatest. Only one person at a time per gender. And on the other side of the street you have your fruits, vegetables, fruit drinks and baked goods. There are lots of parking, but it is very tight and crowded. But if you’re vacationing in Hilo, this is one place you should check out. We bought a bunch of unique and locally made souvenirs here.

Very local taste with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers. When you step in the market, you can smell those fruits that are ready to eat. There are also cookies and cakes that you can enjoy later! Not only produce, there are jewelry, wooden objects, and more. You can park in the same area. If you cannot find a spot, you can find street parking. Bring your own bag! You can find lots of good stuff here!
