Dean Homestead and Art Studios Tour and The Dean Gallery, Homer

Such an amazing little slice of pure love. Creation, heart and care. The energy pouring out of this homestead is amazing.

The Dean Gallery in Homer is an extraordinary experience. Aside from the gallery itself being full of exceptional art, the entire Hobbit-land like property and outbuildings is tour-worthy. The Dean family are true originals in the art world. They live their talk!

Worth visiting just for the grounds. Amazing flowers and just an awesome homestead. The art is beautiful and has stores associated. The open, kind hosts make this a wonderful experience and well worth the trip. The art is eclectic with multiple formats. A very Alaskan experience seeing the tremendous patience and artisan skill to create their lives. I feel privileged to spend a few moments to appreciate the craftsmanship and contrast to what I experience daily

Absolutely enchanting! We visited the Deans in June, 2022 as a part of a longer organized tour, and I was a little skeptical. I didn't think of myself as one interested in either art or farms, but I am so grateful to have been looped into this visit. The Deans are amazingly creative, resourceful, and the results they achieve with their gardens, animals, buildings, and art are each deserving of a visit. We were incredibly lucky to spend a couple of hours with these gracious folks, and to marvel at the wonders of their creativity and the real beauty of their project. If you are in Homer, and want a change of pace, treat yourself to a visit to the Deans' place, and revel in the capacity for folks to create a life unlike any you are likely to have thought of.

What an incredible place to experience. The Dean family is an inspiration. Their ingenuity, creativity and drive, combined with their respect for the land and Mother Nature come together in a stunning landscape of gardens, buildings, animals and artwork. Cannot be missed!
