Homewood Mountain Resort is a ski area located on the west shore of Lake Tahoe in the state of California, a few miles south of Tahoe City in the town of Homewood. It has 1,260 acres (510 ha) of skiable terrain and eight lifts. While it currently does not offer lodging on site, a Draft Environmental Impact Statement has been submitted to the regional planning commission to allow for the development of a resort inclusive of a hotel, condominiums, and various other additions. Since 2006, JMA Ventures, a San Francisco Bay Area developer, has owned and operated the ski area.

  • I can’t give this resort a good review based on the ridiculous prices they charge. Their pricing is fluid so we paid $356/day for skiing and rental over the holidays. Buying online ahead is cheaper....  more

  • I cannot say enough great things about this resort. As first time ski/snow boarders we didn’t know what to expect. We signed up for group lessons and their instructors were top notch. They had us all independent after a lesson and we were able to progress from there. Their prices are affordable, gear rental is good quality, and the location is wonderful. It’s not as busy as the other resorts and their hospitality is awesome. Very family friendly as well as adult friendly… (two bars on premises). We were with other experienced skiers and snow boarders and they enjoyed their advanced trails. Shout out to our instructors Lou, Tim, and Jose. We wouldn’t have had a great time without you all. The view from the resort is unmatched. 10/10 will be back.
  • Homewood is like the sweet spot of ski resorts. Laid back, not crowded, trails for every skier level, low prices, and maybe the best view of Lake Tahoe in the area. The only criticism is that the Big Blue lookout bar should have more food options for lunch (they only had burritos) but the view of the lake from sitting outside was so amazing.
  • Such a wonderful experience! We bought the three day package. We’ve gone twice so far and the lines are always short and the staff is so sweet! Don was amazing in helping my friend on pointers for her first day. And the views are breathtaking. Such a gem. We will be back!
  • This place has a real down to earth family atmosphere with the most amazing views of Lake Tahoe. The green homeward bound run has a real adventure in the forests feel. I also have to say that the rice bowl lunch I had was delicious.
  • Hands down my favorite mountain in the Tahoe area. It might not be the most "modern" or have the most terrain, but the vibe and the view are second to none. Love the glades off the Homewood Express and the Ellis chair and the Beer and Deer special is always a good(?) time. Been coming here consistently for the past five years and inconsistently for longer..will definitely continue to visit.
