White sands, crystal clear waters, and a peaceful atmosphere where you can rest or play make Ala Moana Beach Park a favorite among the local islanders. The 40 hectares (100 acres) park is filled with jogging trails, tennis courts, and large, grassy areas, suitable for sports and picnicking. Choose your spot under a tree, grab a table, or just spread your towel on the beach and head for a swim. The waters are nearly always calm, owing to the reef that surrounds the bay. The steep ocean bottom is good for long distance swimming or surfing. Non-swimmers, however, should exercise caution. Showers, bathrooms, and changing rooms are provided at the spot. Using our online itinerary creator, Honolulu attractions like Ala Moana Beach Park can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

A nice park with plenty of grass and some good paths throughout. A great place to have a picnic or simply to walk or jog through. There is a small sheltered public beach at the end of the park and a couple of food shops within, though only one seemed to be open. The views are spectacular, especially if you walk out to the end of the point. There's a warning sign which you can easily go past but proceed with caution as the rocks can be wet and slippery and a rogue wave can appear at any time. If you keep within the marked areas, the park is very safe for little kids and the paths provide great bike riding opportunities. Disabled access is very good.

This park is perfect to run walk see the ocean. Or swim in the ocean It's about a mile and a half round trip swim very calm waters. When I swam through a sea turtle popped out in front of me! I really enjoy this park just hanging around It's a great place for lunch or picnics or family gatherings. They allow barbecues where you can make some great food and enjoy the sunset!

Absolutely breathtaking views and a clean park! The beachfront isn't super busy, and definitely kid friendly. It's the perfect place to watch the sun set on the water.

I love coming here and putting my hammock up and taking a few hour long nap. If you want to take a nap, you have to walk around like going to Magic Island to get to the good trees and away from the tourists. The fishing here is also amazing but, not to eat, just fish to feed the birds.. don't eat out of the Ala Wai

I enjoy walking close to the ocean, and the scenery here is awesome! On weekdays there is plenty of parking and it's not very crowded. Walking here is very relaxing and being able to watch the surfers and boats pass and airplanes fly overhead makes you really appreciate living here on this beautiful island!
