Falling more than 46 m (150 ft), Manoa Falls sparkles against a sheer rock face. Take a 2.4 km (1.5 mi) hike through tall trees with twisted trunks and thick greenery to reach the falls. The pathway is often slippery, so wear shoes with a good grip. Then be prepared to take these shoes off to wade in the shallow pool at the base of the waterfall. Our Honolulu trip planning site makes visiting Manoa Falls and other Honolulu attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

Decent little hike. It is only like 1.8 miles round trip. A little muddy and some steep parts but not bad. The water fall was a little small and disappointing but the pool at the bottom was cool to sit in.

Gorgeous views through the entire trek up the mountain to see the waterfall. Would do it again. Be prepared for lots of mud on your shoes and some slippery slopes that you can tell they try to maintain.

The hike was good. The distance wasn't too long, and the grade wasn't too difficult. There was plenty of covering to protect from the sun or the random shower storm. We really enjoyed the view of the mountains and the forest at the beginning of the hike. The waterfall was average at best. We've seen some more impressive waterfalls in Canada and Taiwan. But the view and experience up the trail was memorable. Also, we were glad the guy collecting the parking fees had mosquito spray for sale because you will need it.

If you are hesitating on going on this hike, don’t hesitate. We brought a 6 year old and a 10 year old with us and they hiked it fine (besides the fact that my non active son complained a bit). There were some steep parts and some stepping up some stairs, but nothing a normal semi active human being wouldn’t be able to do. The ending was a bit disappointing with the small waterfall but it was worth it since it was our first hike since getting to Hawaii. We Would definitely do it again though, because it was easy.

Beautiful waterfall and rainforest 20 minutes North of Waikiki. Amazing how the climate and environment changes in such a short distance. Whoever said there are no mosquitos in Hawaii has never been to Manoa Falls. We bought Deep Woods Off wipes at the entrance and they were sufficient. $2.75 for one wipe. Cash and Card accepted. If you forgot your OFF just buy the wipes. You won't regret it. You'll need them further up the trail by the waterfall or the creek. Picturesque scenery throughout the hike. Challenging hike for very young and very old. It rained the entire hike up and down. You're shoes will get wet and muddy. Most hikers had athletic shoes. Some had hiking boots and even a few had flip-flops. They all seemed to make the hike without major issues. Very slippery muddy portions on a fairly steep slope. However, most of the trail had rocks to assist with gripping the trail. It can be tiring going up the hill and more dangerous coming down on the slippery footing. My 8yr daughter made it up fairly easily. I had to hold my 5 yr old son's hand up and down but he didn't have further problems. If you are taking elderly parents/company be sure to assist them on the way up and down as they can be unsteady on their feet. You do not want them tumbling or falling down on the rocks. A bottle of water should suffice for the hike. Take only pictures. Leave only footprints and be courteous to other hikers.
