Mammoth Cave Campground, Horse Cave

The campsites are very close together, so there is not a lot of privacy, and our spot was right next to the road, so cars are driving by. It took away from the vibe we were going for, but overall, it's a nice little camp if you're new to camping. Each spot has its own parking, a cement picnic table area and a fire ring which has a removable grill top which made boiling water pretty simple. There are small bathroom houses throughout the grounds with running water. Close to the little store that has food, laundry, showers, post office, etc. There are rangers constantly driving thru and very helpful if you need anything. This is just a short drive down the street from the mammoth cave visitors center, so the location is great if you're here to see the caves. Lots of trees for hammocks.

Lots of amazing cave tours within walking distance as well as hikes. Nice campground, but it's too bad that you have to pay for showers. It should be included as part of your campground fee.

Everything was perfect for camping! It was my first time camping and my friends couldn't have picked a better spot that weekend. The restrooms were clean, the birds were all around, and the rec center had good hot food and a good convenience to get snacks, marshmallows, fire tools, etc.

Truely quiet; and my site is by the road. May be different in the summer during the height of tourist season. Showers and laundry at the camper store if you need them. Bring your quarters. Site #35 There is a recycling site near the entrance.

Disappointed in the showers. Charge $1.50 for 4 and some odd seconds and a quarter for each additional 30 sec!?!! Weird and frustrating at 9:00pm after and 90 degree day that was still 88! We have dry docked before, but I really needed to cool my kids off before bed and none of the showers in the women’s room were working right. 2 not at all and last one was charging initial cost every time, not 30 seconds added. More frustrated with how complicated the experience was. Lots of others were, too. Campground was nice and really close. They need a good showerhouse!
