The park is beautiful! Camp sites are spacious, trails are well maintained, entire park is clean and we had an alligator checking out people fishing on the dock. We are definitely coming back!

Scenic park with an enormous number of picnic tables (see photos below, they are everywhere!) The park has lots of things to do including: walking/biking trails, swimming, fishing and a "gator talk" at the nature center which includes a chance to pet a very small alligator. At dawn and dusk you can head to a fishing pier and try to spot one of the 60+ alligators the park rangers say are in the lake. We saw several from a distance at dusk. The park store has a little bit of everything if you forgot to bring something. The RV pads are getting dated and some are quite uneven so bring your stabilizer leveling pads/blocks. Most the pads have a lot of shade which gives you a fighting chance in the heat. The fishing piers are both very new and very clean and the boat ramp/dock are pristine. The only reason I didn't give this park five stars is the general amount of trash we had at our site and along the banks of the lake. I realize how hard this is to police but it took away from the experience. Otherwise, the bathrooms, while dated, were clean and well lit and the overall experience was a positive one. I would return here again.

Very fun state park! The nature trails were beautiful though a bit confusing to follow at times. I feel the signs should be updated a bit. The fire pit and dining tables at the campsite was really well set however and the bathrooms were relatively clean with private showers at a good temperature and good water pressure. They also didn't have too much of a bug/raccoon problem. The place is very family friendly and alcohol is prohibited. I think it's a fun family place to visit, but if you want to get a bit loud or blast tunes, I'd choose a different spot because the campsites were pretty full and there are rangers constantly monitoring.

We went there to camp and it was beautiful. Restrooms were clean, and rangers clean the ways daily. We got our spot and fire ring clean as well. The only issue we have had was trail maps. We wanted to go for hiking around 1 hour and were looking the map in the beginning of the trail. However, at some points, maps do not show the directions clearly, especially the one says " You are here" on intersection points. Otherwise, I love Huntsville and Huntsville State Park.

Wow what a beautiful state park. This has to be one of the cleanest state parks that I have been to. The staff is beyond incredible. Wood prices are fantastic. I cannot say enough great things for this place. I highly recommend and we will definitely be back sooner rather than later.

Beautiful park. We went at the beginning of December when the leaves are changing. This rivals the beauty of New England in tha fall. Conditions were perfect when we were there. Cool temperatures, overcast skies with light mist flowing through the trees. It looks like something from a postcard.
