  • There is a lot to see and do for historians and nature lovers. First off, when you arrive and park, make your way to the visitor center. Having visited in mid-February, you can get your passport...

  • Took a tour of the FDR home and site and was truly amazed. There are a number of things to check out, a small fee for the house and museum and the grounds are free. The house itself was decorated...

  • Of the three mansions we visited today, the FDR home and museum were my favorite. If you only visit one, visit this site! The house tour and the museum both require separate admission so keep that in mind but both were worth it. Our tour guide Linda was awesome. She was very friendly and knowledgeable which really made the tour. She even took us to an area of the house you don’t normally see (this was because we were a small group). It was nice to see how FDR lived and see the human side of a great President. This was a beautiful home. The museum was nice but not necessarily a must do unless you have the time. We easily spent an hour walking through the museum but could have stayed longer if we didn’t have a res At Vanderbilt.
  • A great place to visit for a coue hours, or more if you want to learn a lot more. You can go to the park for free to walk around and see everything from the outside. There are nice trails to walk through the woods near the river. To go in the house you have to buy a tour ($10pp or included with a National Parks Pass). To go into the presidential library you have to buy a separate ticket (not part of the parks pass).
  • The home and the museum are on the grounds. Give yourself several hours to tour both. Arrive early to book a tour of the mansion so you can visit right away. Tours are limited to a certain amount of people. What's not to like. Both museum and home are fascinating to walk through. Make sure you watch the movies of FDR throughout the museum and listen to snippets of his speeches. There is also an entire area devoted to Eleanor which is just as fascinating. Not a place to bring young children. They will be bored and none of this will interest them. They will just run around and I saw many parents chasing after their young ones. Junior High age children are the youngest who should go since they will be studying FDR, the depression and WW2.
  • Amazing place. Feels more like a beautiful park that was full of life and history. Well kept and maintained. Parking on site. Great landscapes, views for days. Loved the Garden, museum, library...so much to take in. Highly recommend for anyone and everyone.
  • Amazing to walk the grounds of FDR's home. Everything(Visitors center, Library, Home)here is separate, with separate admission and hours, which is kind of a pain. I arrived late and just strolled the grounds, would have enjoyed seeing the library.
