  • One of my favorite places. Sandy point offers stunning views of Ipswich bay, castle hill and the outstretched hand of Cape Ann. At low tide explore the many tidal pools on the southern tip and go for a nice walk around the islands edge. Plenty of space to spread out and find your own private slice of heaven. Do note that the southern most parking lot can fill up quickly in the summer
  • The top of plum island... So lovely and never really crowded. I had most of the beach to myself except the plovers and gulls who came up visit. There were lots of rocks on the shoreline so I'm not sure about the swimming, I mostly just walked for miles.
  • Very nice place to visit. The last mile or so to Sandy Point is a gravel road, wouldn't go there on a motor cycle. Very good place to take photos of birds or to just take a walk on the beach.
  • I like to visit this beach. Worth the treacherous journey by car down down that gravel road to the end of the reserve. Not sure what's got more craters, the dirt road or our Earth's Moon. Park at either the left or right lot further down at low tide, and walk through the the rocks to the otger entrance, then just a short walk down the road in either direction to your car. Solid little walk. Lots to see. Some moderate tide pools with moon snails. Swimable in summer if you're fluent in swimming surf and riptide. Serious undertoe.
  • Was a very beautiful drive down from Portland but turned out to be a beautiful day. There were many people off bird watching and taking photos not overly crowded. Are we walked along the beach on the point for what seemed to be an hour but it turned out to be several very beautiful views sand dunes
