  • This was our first state park cabin experience, and we loved it! The cabin was cozy, with comfortable futons. We brought kayaks and enjoyed paddling.

  • A great place to come for swimming, an afternoon picnic, or just a relaxing walk along the shore of Island Pond. The water is clear and clean, the beach maintained nicely, and the facilities kept in good condition. Choose a time mid-week when it's quieter at the beach and enjoy the long view across the lake. From spring until autumn, the views here are spectacular and the beach is always a great photo-op location. The park is much larger than it seems, with camping, hiking, and rental cabins available. Most of the trails are flat and easy, with an interpretive nature walk where you might spot some birds. The park is fairly remote, and the nearby community of Island Pond is small and simple, but wonderful to explore during the afternoon.
  • A beautiful park with one side being mainly camping ground and the other trails with beautiful views of Spectacle Pond. The park is practically between Island and Spectacle Ponds. It is roughly 65 miles from Stowe, VT.
  • Beautiful area between Island Pond and Spectacle Pond. The campground consists of three loops with mostly lean-to camping on the middle loop. Nice wooded campsites, some on the pond. Fire pits and picnic tables provided. Water is available as well. Each loop has its own bath house which were cleaned daily. You can buy firewood and ice at the entrance. Various unmotorized watercraft are available to rent. The beach is sandy on Spectacle Pond and only for campers. There is a day use area and beach for the public down the road a bit from the campground. It is on the larger Island Pond. We stayed three days and paddled in a rented canoe one of them. Lots of nice trails around the campground and the area.We heard and saw loons. Staff are friendly and the campground manager was helpful and knowledgeable. We changed our site ( the one we chose wasn't level and we saw that most were better) with no problem. Camped here in September 2021.
  • My family and I camp at the State Parks in Vermont at least three times a year in the cabins. The cabin at the park was extremely clean, and had a air purifier running upon entering. The front gravel was graded and it was quite evident this park maintains it's sites very well. Bathrooms, and showers were more of the same; cleanest I have seen in all parks. Plenty to do with swimming, and walking around the park loops, or taking a quick ride in town for ice cream or a bite to eat. Our kids had a blast and asked when we were coming back. Wildlife in the area is nice to see, including the many loons at the pond. I would recommend to all!!!
  • Great place to be & the view is beautiful. Clean water and beach. Has picnic area with some charcoal grills. Has nice restrooms and changing rooms. Place is great for all ages and you don't have to worry with kids because it's shallow for a good distance. Sometimes there is admission fees to get in. Please clean up after yourselves to keep beaches beautiful!
